it's evening
and it's raining
a noisy rain
big drops hitting the sidewalk
the neighbors garbage can
an annoying rain

i've heard the same sounds
with joy
with laughter
or just ignored it

but
tonight
i'm annoyed

my mood is bleak enough
it does not need
to be accompanied

especially by sounds
that remind
of better times
