my feather friends
which i love watching
have migrated
 south
for the winter

but....
i know from
experience
they will return
with spring

nature is
cyclical
so is the
human
condition

but we
as humans
fight against
even curse it
the cycles

but cycles are
whimsical
the can spiral
up
or down

we love the
upward
but rebel
against
the downward

but we must
learn to
take both
in stride
and survive
